Synergetic Project Delivery Process

The Synergetic Project Delivery™ process is intended to remove wasted planning and design time and effort through greater initial client participation, earlier budget preparation and verification and successive, binding decisions.

Sample program

Although the downloadable Sample space listing (PDF file) is just one element from an HFPP program, it contains a great deal of information. Rooms and spaces are listed with:

• idealized dimensions (which can be used as a starting point by the designer or medical planner and give users a sense of the size)
• net square feet per space or area
• the intended number of occupants per space
• room types which tie back to
  • costing information
  • equipment listings
  • diagrammatic room layouts
• relevant code or regulatory requirements references
• net areas per functional cluster.

A concluding summary shows:

• assumed net-area to departmental-gross-area multiplier (the allowance for internal departmental corridors, etc.).

In addition, not shown, would be the additional departmental information on:

• operational guidelines
• process maps
• functional diagrams
• driver space analysis
• equipment list
• room data sheets.

In a project with multiple departments, there would also be (not shown):

• information on the status of the overall project
  • budget
  • schedule
• summary information for the entire project including
  • each department’s net and departmental gross square feet
  • total building gross square feet
  • cost compared with budget
  • schedule.

The goals of this depth of information are to provide:

• meaningful input into real time cost estimating
• clear definition of project scope for the entire team,

Armed with this information, the team can make timely decisions about project content – not waiting until a design is almost fully realized and expectations are set, perhaps too high.
