This knowledge community is a tremendous resource providing a number of valuable educational programs and current publications reporting on the latest trends in healthcare environments and how to create them.

The American Society of Healthcare Engineering represents a many different individuals involved in creating, managing and maintaining healthcare environments. With the AIA AAH, ASHE presents and annual international conference on the planning, design and construction of healthcare facilities.

The Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI) was formed in 1998 with the intent that the Guidelines for Design and Construction of Health Care Facilities.document is reviewed and revised on a regular cycle with a consensus process by a multidisciplinary group of experts from the federal, state, and private sectors. FGI serves as the contracting agent for the work performed by the HGRC and by the publisher of the document.
